Today, we know that Mars was something like a ‘second Earth’ millions of years ago when our solar system was much younger. In fact, in the last couple of decades, scientists changed their mind about Mars drastically. What do we know about Mars? We know that the planet that was once thought to be lifeless, dry and dead in fact is much more similar to Earth. If you see on a planet that used to be Earth-like, a carved human face and a pyramid within 5 km of each other… it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what this all means, you can connect the dots. Photos on a Trip Advisor entry for Pobiti Kamani show similar formations. USA TODAY found photos that closely matched the landscape in the meme on a Bulgarian travel website and a Bulgarian rental accommodations website. Pobitite Kamani, alternately spelled Pobiti Kamani, is a natural area in Bulgaria that features unique rocky columns. However, the image labeled "Pobitite Kamani, Bulgaria" appears to be authentic, or is at least an accurate representation of the Bulgarian site. USA TODAY was unable to locate the supposed Mars image from the meme in either NASA image repository. "All raw images from Curiosity and Perseverance Mars rover missions can be found" on the organization's website, he said. The image in the meme is not an original NASA photo of Mars, NASA spokesperson DC Agle, told USA TODAY in an email. Special access for subscribers!
