Both Cadillacs I've had have been economical with very few issues. The 3.0 will get me up to freeway speed just fine. I do notice the power difference at times between the 3.6 and the 3.0 (minimally) but I live in a suburban/urban environment so the times I get to really hit it hard are far and few between. This is my second Cadillac, after my '04 CTS. I can chime in with some thoughts on my 2010 I bought about 3 years ago. The AWD Haldex system is really great in these! (even if the rear end diff pump goes bad once in a while lol) Steve love the SRX handling, power and utility. Ours actually drives better than when we bought it with 46k miles just due to the extra attention to things. I had one valve replaced a couple years ago now.
2011 CADILLAC SRX LUXURY COLLECTION CODE
Long drives on the highway for 3 or 4 hours will bring out the problem and set a code that can be checked by a code reader. The VVT system is monitored for trouble of course but it won't set the codes that easily we've all noticed on the forum here. The VVT adjusts the engine for power and if they are having "trouble" you'll find the engine surges and hesitates at light loaded rpm's. The VVT system is also sensitive to clean oil due to the tiny screens they put in them which can get plugged up if the interval is too long. I change the oil every 50% of oil life on the monitor on the dash. I've had my oil tested by Blackstone to make sure that my interval of oil changes isn't a problem. Keeping the oil changed every 5k miles is a good idea. The 3.6 is a better engine overall and by 2013 the timing chain problem was in the rear view mirror for issues.
